The “F” Word Sunday, March 12

judy_beach_3

As we progress with our series of “Repent from Lent,” we may encounter challenges of old habits and beliefs. Understatement, right? Using the interpretation of “repent” meaning to change our minds, we find that Lent, as a season, can be just another effort to improve ourselves. When the actual opportunity is to change our consciousness and thus change our world. Charles Fillmore said, “If we would ‘lose the bands of wickedness’ we must learn to fast from all unworthy thought and feast on the good and the true. This Sunday service we will address the “F” Word, fasting. We can take this beyond giving up luxuries and truly experience a change of mind. Join us in our journey to spiritual growth.

Repent from Lent! March 5, 11:00 a.m.

Traditionally Lent is a time of fasting and abstinence, specifically, the 40 days (plus six Sundays) between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday. Like many other religious practices it is too often observed in letter but not in spirit. Many of us give up certain things for the forty days of Lent, and doing so can be a very beneficial thing for us.

This seven-week series takes that idea one step further and talking each week about aspects of our spiritual journey to realize and live our Divine Nature. Let’s discover the value of Lent for us today!

Coming or Going? February 26 11:00 a.m.

As we approach the traditional Lenten season, we may question the value of visiting such an ancient tradition. Some of us may have a background of understanding that these 40 days, not including Sundays, means we must give up creature comforts. In today’s conditions and challenges, where are we to go? Backwards? Or Forwards? Are we going towards Easter or coming to a “new” understanding? We begin this Sunday with an exploration of the deeper meaning of Lent as we approach Easter. On Ash Wednesday at 7:00 pm, we will offer a metaphysical experience of this beginning of Lent. I look forward to our spiritual journey in this special time of year. Blessings, Rev. Judy

“Be. The. Longing.” February 19th 11:00 a.m.

Reverend Kelly Isola, Guest Minister

Mother Teresa said that if we have no peace it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. Look around you… you belong to each other… my life matters because of you. One of the deepest human longings – is the longing to belong… to be a part of things… to be invited in… to be safe and protected. So if we have no peace, remember – not only do we BELONG TO EACH OTHER – but it is also our invitation to BE. THE. LONGING.

Rev. Kelly Isola, MDiv, is a dynamic evolutionary leader, speaker and writer. Rev. Kelly holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Unity Institute & Seminary. She is certified in Spiral Dynamics and Integral Theory, and co-hosts with Rima Bonario her own radio show, “The Minister and The Mother” on BlogTalkRadio. As a Certified Peaceworker and Transitional Consultant she partners with spiritual communities and non-profit organizations to help them understand their past, make peace with it, and co-create a shared vision for their future. She is also the co-author of the bestselling book, “Who Have You Come Here To Be: 101 Possibilities for Contemplation.”

I Pray It! – Sunday, February 5, 11:00 a.m.

Prayer seems to be the simplest and most familiar of spiritual concepts.  And yet, as we explore our 5 Unity Principles, we may wonder what is prayer?  If God is good and everywhere present, why bother?  If I have a Divine Nature where does talking to God fit?  What did Jesus really mean with “Ask and it will be given?” Join us as we discover affirmative prayer and how we use it in our lives to realize wholeness, prosperity and Oneness.

“Creative Thinking” Sunday, January 29, Khalif Mulholland

k
One of Unity‘s Basic Unity Principle is…”We are co- creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind.”
The Creation process can be two-fold, the creation of the thought or idea and the creation or manifestation of the thought to reality. Join us  Sunday to further probe one expression of this process.

“God Is” Sunday, January 15, 2017

judy_beach_3

Have you ever asked yourself the question: What is God? We are told to pray by turning away from the problem and thinking about God; but how are we to think about God? What is God like?  What is the nature of God?  Where is God? How is the world in such trouble if God is good and everywhere?  Unity has a unique view of God, and we will explore this on Sunday, January 15, at our 11 am service as we begin our 5-week series of Re-discovering Unity.  Join us for “God Is.”

Epiphany Sunday! Jan 8th, 11 am

epiphany

As this Sunday is on the Christian church calendar as the Sunday (or Feast) of Epiphany, we will take this opportunity to explore the meaning of “epiphany” in our lives.  In Christian terms, this is the revelation of God in the form of a babe to three kings who are said to have visited him at his home in Nazareth (not in Bethlehem as our nativity scenes depict).  What form does “epiphany” take in our own lives? What does it mean to have an “epiphany” and how do we know it has value beyond our own internal experience?  Join us as we explore these meanings for ourselves and participate in the installation of Reverend Judy Beach into spiritual leadership of Unity of Corpus Christi.

Dissolving Bowl and White Stone Ceremony, Jan 1st

New Year/New You Ceremony:    Sunday, January 1 at 11:00 am. white-stone-image

We welcome 2017 and allow for the prosperous gifts of the new year by releasing the baggage of the old.  During this service, we’ll let go of any residual blockages to expressing our True Nature through a well-loved Release ceremony. Things to let go of may be negative feelings about persons, places, events or illness, conditions which are not desirable, habits or behaviors, etc. With a more environmentally friendly “dissolving bowl” (rather than a burning bowl) we’ll use dissolving paper to release whatever is not in alignment with Spirit.  Then, through the White Stone ceremony, based on the statement in Revelations, “I will give that person a white stone with a new name written on it,” we’ll begin anew with a new quality of being.  This ritual culminates the process of letting go and opening to the new level of Spirit expressing as you.

Come and be supported in our spiritual community!

Blessings,

Rev. Judy
